MEET THE TIPI TEAM

As the only Indigenous, ‘full-line’ insurance operation offering pension, property & benefits in Canada, TIPI understands the multi-service requirements of the people we serve.

Cheryl Arcand is from Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and grew up in the community of Muskeg Lake.

She holds a CAIB license in Saskatchewan and is also licensed to sell in Alberta. Cheryl is a licensed Insurance Broker for Property and Liability and has been working with First Nation Communities and First Nation commercial entities since 1994.

Cheryl has a passion for the simple things in life, chasing the activities of her grandchildren, taking time to fish and hunt and enjoying the gifts of nature.

Nathan is a member of Misipawistik Cree Nation at Grand Rapids, Manitoba. He holds an MBA and an Advanced Bachelor’s Degree in First Nations Governance from the University of Saskatchewan. He is bi-lingual and began his career working beside former Prime Minister Paul Martin as an investment analyst for Martin’s Capital for Aboriginal Prosperity and Entrepreneurship, or CAPE fund, in Montreal. Nathan is dual-licensed for both life insurance and property & casualty.

Joan Barmby-Halcro grew up in rural Prince Albert in a family of 14. She is a member of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan. Joan has an EPC Professional Designation (Elder Planning Counsellor), and has been licensed in the Insurance Industry for 32 years. Joan has specialized in First Nation Employee Benefit Plans for 26 years. After work Joan enjoys spending time with her 5 grandchildren, as well as tending to her farm and Appaloosa horses.

Chris Berthelette is Metis and grew up in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. He holds a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation. With more than 11 years in the insurance industry, Chris provides Property and Casualty Insurance consultation for First Nation communicates and Commercial entities. Outside of work, Chris is a Tim Bits soccer coach and enjoys camping and spending time with his wife and two kids. 

Roy Bluehorn joined TIPI in 2015. Previously Roy was the Director of Lands and Resources at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, as well as a policy advisor to the former premier of Ontario. In his spare time Roy enjoys cycling and watching the Edmonton Oilers.

Eileen is from Big Beaver, Saskatchewan. She is a Financial Adviser specializing in Group Life & Health as well as Pensions for Indigenous bands, schools and businesses. She holds CLU and ChFC designations and has worked within the indigenous insurance industry for nearly 20 years. After work, Eileen enjoys reading, playing cribbage, and camping with her grandchildren, two sons and husband. 

Melanie Brass is an Indigenous Oji-Cree woman from Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve, and grew up in The Pas. She is working towards her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation, and is currently working as a MSR. She provides service and consultation to plan administrators and plan members. After work she enjoys spending time with her family and three kids, watching the Bombers and Jets, and participating in a variety of Indigenous ceremonies.

Kent has been in the property insurance field for over 20 years. His knowledge and expertise in the First Nations property and liability field is unparalleled in the country. He handles our business in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Denae is a Metis woman who manages underwriting processes including reports and database management. She prepares and communicates new and renewal business submissions and endorsements. Her duties include checking for accuracy and delivering quotes to our producers.

Leanne Delorme is Cree/Saulteaux First Nation and grew up in Regina, SK. She is a Client Service Representative and works mainly with plan administrators to ensure policies are handled properly. She also assists clients with the process of pension unlocking. After work Leanna enjoys reading, going to movies and spending time with her 3 sons.

Coralee grew up in Cranbrook, BC and holds a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) accreditation.

She is an Account Executive with over 19 years of experience and provides Benefits and Pension to First Nation communities and Commercial entities. Coralee leverages her knowledge of First Nations and the uniqueness of doing business in First Nations communities when providing insurance and risk management recommendations.

Outside of work, Coralee can be found enjoying time with her husband and three children, working in her yard, fishing and reading.

Janice L. Gladue is Cree from Sweetgrass First Nation in Treaty 6 territory, Saskatchewan. She holds the Canadian Accredited Insurance Brokers (CAIB) designation and is pursuing studies to achieve her Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. She specializes in supporting Aboriginal communities and corporate entities in the areas of risk management and insurance.  Janice serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary. In her spare time she can be found on the sidelines of a local soccer pitch cheering on her daughters or husband.

Marielle Lewicki was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba. She began her career in the banking industry and later began a new career as a MSR for TIPI Insurance Partners. She is a pension specialist and assists our clients with all their pension needs. Outside of work, Marielle enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as cooking at cheering for the Roughriders.

Dion McKay is a Cree resident of Fisher River Cree Nation. He started with TIPI as an MSR and has now become a Benefits Consultant after having completed his LLQP (Life Licence Qualification Program). When he isn’t in the office, Dion is spending time with his family and children. Dion is an avid basketball fan and plays in a spring/summer league in Winnipeg with the Fisher River Hawks.

Kimberley Marnock grew up in The Pas, MB. She currently holds a GBA1 and is working towards a Group Benefit Associate and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.

Kimberley has over 12 years of experience and is a Senior Member Service Representative in the Group Insurance and Group Pension Department of TIPI.

Outside of work, Kimberley is a spouse, a hockey mom and owns two quirky hound dogs.

Cynthia McDonald grew up in Crane River MB. She has a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and 18 years of industry experience. Cynthia consults TIPI’s clients on risk management, housing solutions, mold remediation, and litigation coverage. Outside of the office Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family.

Allan was born and raised in Bunibonibee Cree Nation.

He graduated from the Business Administration and Band & Northern Community Administration programs from what is now known as University College of the North, and received his Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation in 2005 through the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA) of Canada as well as the Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator (CAPA) designation in 2015.

Allan has served on the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA) of Canada Board of Directors from 2007 to 2011 as the Manitoba Chapter Representative. He served as the President of the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA) Manitoba Chapter from 2014-2017 as well as from 2008 to 2011.

Allan joined the TIPI team on July 24, 2017 as a Benefits Consultant.

Marie Neubuhr is a First Nations member of Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation. She has a diploma in Business Management from the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. With over 16 years in the industry, Marie is one of our Client Service Representatives, focused on Group Insurance and Pension plans. In her personal time she enjoys horseback riding.

Henry was born and raised in Saddle Lake Cree Nation. He holds two licenses, SK. Level 3 and AB. Level 1. Henry is an Account Executive with 17 years of knowledge and experience working with First Nations and settlements. After work Henry enjoys golfing and spending time at the gym. 

Norine is Ojibway from North Caribou Lake Band and currently lives in Kelowna BC.  As a Sr Account Executive, Norine strives to make a difference in the lives of First Nations and Indigenous people in BC & AB through her work with group insurance and pensions.

After raising 4 wonderful sons, Norine can be found in a yoga class or golfing in the Okanagan.

Rob Veito was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba, and is Metis.

Rob is the Vice President of TIPI operations, and has shown great pride in helping build an Indigenous-owned insurance brokerage that employs Indigenous people and shares the wealth within our communities.

Rob has more than 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. He enjoys travelling, playing and watching hockey, and listening to music.

Leona Walowski was born in Porcupine Plains SK., She later moved to The Pas, Manitoba where she joined our team as our receptionist.  Leona has been handling our front-desk responsibilities for nearly eight years.

Outside of work Leona keeps busy with her grandchildren, as well as cooking, crafting and staying physically active.
